Single, double or triple white wardrobes?
A wardrobe is a piece of furniture generally meant for the bedroom that holds clothing, but it can also store towels, socks, jewelry, and other items. This functionality, as well as the distinctive look and unique design they bring to the room, has made them an extremely popular piece of home furniture.
The white wardrobe first originated in Vietnam, and it is covered in a pearl white paint color that compliments any bedroom. An additional layer of shellac is generally added on high-quality wardrobes, as it will help to protect the piece of furniture from scratches when it is being moved. Generally they are made out of wood, but other materials have been used, as well.
Most white wardrobes feature a long cupboard with either double of triple doors, but some, like the PREPAC juvenile wardrobe, only come with one door. It is necessary to consider the size of the bedroom before purchasing any piece of furniture, especially a wardrobe, as low ceilings can cause restrictions on what size and type you should purchase. One popular brand of white wardrobe is the Salisbury, which measures 139cm x 50 cm and weighs 47kg. This lacquer finished white wardrobe is made of pine and comes with two sliding doors and two drawers.
IKEA, who is a popular retailer of white wardrobes, has a variety of products sold at different prices. One of the most affordable is the Aneboda, which measures 180cm x 50 cm x 81 cm. This wardrobe is the same depth as the Salisbury, but it is 41cm taller. The Aneboda features double doors, one clothes rail, and one shelf.
One of the most expensive white wardrobes found at IKEA is the Elga wardrobe with three sliding doors. Its dimensions are 203cm x 58 cm x 217 cm. Although the width is not much larger than the Aneboda or the Salisbury, it is considerably taller and wider. The sliding door feature requires less space when open then a typical wardrobe door, and it features three clothes rails inside. Unlike most wardrobes, which are made of wood, this wardrobe is primarily made out of particleboard, foil, fiberboard, and aluminum.
