Have you ever wondered if you look Photogenic when photographed in stereo 3D?

Have you ever seen yourself in a 3D picture in any one of the 3D stereoscopic formats available, whether using Anaglyph Photo3D glasses or 3D viewers, polarized 3D glasses or an old fashioned classical stereoscope, or using 3D glasses-free Lenticular prints or Holographic prints?

Before I give you the answer let's first define what makes a person "*Photogenic*". What we all know about being "Photogenic" is that some of us look better in pictures than in real life.

When you look very good in pictures, meaning much better than in real life, we call you "Photogenic", when you don't look good we tell you are not Photogenic. Unfortunately, it turns out that most of us don't view ourselves to be Photogenic.

In fact based on a 13,000-person study, lead by Stereo 3D Expert Sam Ramadan and conducted by Mission3D during the summer of 2003 on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire USA, Ramadan discovered that nearly 80% of females don't like to be photographed unless the photographer can absolutely promise them a good resulting picture, stating that they "Don't look good in pictures", while 20% believe that they look good in pictures, hence Photogenic, and have no problem being photographed regardless of the circumstances.

To define "Photogenic" scientifically, it turns out that Photogenic means that a person looks good when being viewed in Two-Dimensional imagery (Flat 2D) rather than in normal real life imagery (Stereo 3D).

Flat 2D photography (normal single-lens single-image camera photography) results in a complete loss of depth perception which tends to make images look wider than in real-life and this transformation in some individuals makes them appear more attractive, thus Photogenic, while for most of us we actually look less attractive thus non-Photogenic.

It turns out that when you see yourself in a Stereo 3D picture, you are actually reproducing depth perception through Stereo 3D vision; therefore with Photo 3D (*Photo3-D®*) images (real life-like visuals) there is no such thing as being Photogenic.

So If you are satisfied with your real-life image as you normally see yourself in a mirror, you will also be satisfied with your Stereo 3D life-picture.

During its research in 2003, Mission3-D was pleased to know that all the females that did not consider themselves to be Photogenic were delighted to see the result of their own Stereo 3D Photograph as it did not make them look non-Photogenic and that in the words of many, "Finally a picture of me that looks exactly like me!".
