FALL WEDDING

 

Fall is the time when many trees drop their leaves in preparation for the long, cold, dark months of winter that lie ahead of them. There is a feeling of expectation in the air, and watchfulness and anticipation, too, as well. Animals go about stocking up their winter larders in preparation for the months of winter that are slowly but surely creeping up on them. The air is cooling down and only seems to be getting colder day by day as life slows down and prepares to welcome the return of the cold.

 

Some would say that it would not be too appropriate to hold a fall wedding in such an atmosphere, because weddings are meant to be joyous and celebratory, and fall is not necessarily a good backdrop for such an event. However, not only is it appropriate and of course possible to organize a fall wedding, it also can be quite a joyous and celebratory event in its own right – even if the season itself lacks the joy and lively energy of spring and summer.

 

If you want to hold a memorable fall wedding, then you and the people assisting you would do best to come up with an appropriate theme – perhaps something in red, yellow and brown, the primary colors of the season and in keeping with the season itself, for the décor and perhaps even the clothes of the bridal entourage, if you wish to go that far. Some memorable and successful fall weddings held in the past have also made use of designs that evoke fall – imagery involving autumn leaves, for instance, in the décor, the wedding invitations, the giveaways, the photo albums, and so on and so forth.

 

The food as well should be selected to match the season. To deal with the fall, and especially if an open-air fall wedding is desired, it would be best for the organizers to serve warming food at a fall wedding. In addition, in keeping with a fall theme, food that makes use of the best the season has to offer should be served.

 

Depending on the area in which you are to hold your wedding, an outside fall wedding may be possible if that is what the bride and groom desire. A fall wedding “close to nature” – one held in an open venue or even outside, is possible and even desirable in some areas, if held during the appropriate time. Care will have to be taken as regards potential illnesses for those suffering from allergies if an open-air fall wedding is desired; however, such issues can easily be dealt with and such limitations accommodated if they are determined early enough. But a wedding in a closed area not so subject to the vagaries of the weather and the encroaching cold may still be best for a fall wedding.

 

A fall wedding may seem none too appropriate for the season, but this need not be the case; it may as a matter of fact still be a joyous event despite the encroaching winter.
