Baby Shower Party Ideas for the Father-to-be
By tradition, men were not invited to a baby shower party because then baby showers were more of a celebration about the womanhood of a mother-to-be. Men commonly show up at the end to either assist their wives with the gifts or do some cleaning up. Today, this tradition has changed as men are now invited to attend baby shower parties or show up towards the end to join in the celebration.
Since husbands also share in caring for the baby to come, modern practice of having a baby shower party for fathers-to-be became popular. Included in these baby showers are the grandfathers, uncles, close male family friends and male officemates of the father-to-be.
One great idea of a baby shower for a father-to-be is the "How-to Books Baby Shower Party". As the name implies, this party is focused on giving the father-to-be books that will help him learn how to help his wife in taking care of the baby, feeding, bathing, baby exercises, stages of baby's growth and a lot more. Guests can shower the soon-to-be father instructional and informative books that are easy to follow and understand. Especially for first time fathers-to-be who lack or have no experience whatsoever.
The party can be held either at the house of the soon-to-be father or the host. Invitations should be sent at least 2 weeks before to ensure attendance as men usually are not into attending parties. To avoid duplication, the host must assign a particular topic for the book an attendee should bring as gift.
Since it is going to be an all male party, the simpler the decoration is - the better. Finger foods, pizza, or sandwiches for food is good enough. Be sure that there is plenty of drinks and coffee. While eating, male guests who already have children can share their experiences as fathers which will be beneficial to the father-to-be. This party idea is simple, educational and very cost efficient.
